Regardless of the eventual fate of the Affordable Care Act, the transition from volume-based to value-based reimbursement will continue to march forward.  The January and February series of two sessions will focus on the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ payment reform initiatives, including the Accountable Care Organization/Shared Savings Program, the Physician Feedback Program and Value-Based Payment Modifier, reimbursement for care coordination and medical home services, and current and future quality reporting requirements.  We also will explore emerging quality-based compensation models for physicians.  We will identify strategies physician practices should be pursuing now to prepare for value-based purchasing.
