Be a member of one of the largest medical group management associations in the nation. GKCMMA, now in its 27th year, has been the trend setter for the rest of the state and the nation.

Audio Conferences / Webinars

GKCMMA periodically sponsors MGMA audio conferences or webinars on relevant health care issues and medical management topics that the committee feels would be of benefit to the membership. These hour-and-a-half presentations currently are provided free-of-charge to GKCMMA members and are held at various locations in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Education Conference

GKCMMA’s annual one-day education conference provides an opportunity for interaction between speakers and members. The conference is our attempt to bring national known speakers to our membership at a nominal fee. It usually is held in March or April of each year.  With more than 84 exhibitor booths and sponsorships, the conference keeps our association a viable force in the Kansas Area.

Listserv

GKCMMA has an active listserv.  Once your application is processed you automatically are included on this valuable tool for quick answer to your questions from your peers.  There are "Etiquette and Rules"  to follow that are monitored. 

Membership Directory

The latest membership information is available in the Managers and Business Partner directories posted on this website. You must be a member of GKCMMA and have an access name and password to enter the Manager and Student directories. The Business Partner directory is available to everyone. No printed membership directory is available.

Monthy Luncheons

On the third Wednesday of each month members and guest of members gather at an educational meeting for luncheon and a guest speaker on relevant healthcare  topics affecting managers today.  The Program Committee develops topics and finds speakers using the 8 Domains of MGMA National.  We meet at 11:00 a.m. and conclude by 1:00 p.m.  Most months include payor of the month, where area payors provide pertinent information to managers.  Door prizes and display tables from our Business Partner members make this a fun and sometimes lucrative event to attend.  To view upcoming events please visit the Calendar pages. 

Networking Events

Occasionally GKCMMA hosts networking events at no cost to members that are sponsored by our business partners.  They work closely with the Networking Subcommittee of the Program Committee to create networking evetns outside the normal work hours. This subcommittee plans informal after-work events periodically, located in various areas of the Kansas City metropolitan area. These opportunities are not paid events: food and drink are the members’ responsibility unless it is underwritten or hosted by a practice or business partner. Watch for upcoming events in our monthly newsletter.

NEW:  The Social Networking Subcommittee is working on one or two annual events.  These events will be varied each year and be funded by GKCMMA as a benefit of membership.

Professional Development

The Forum Representative and ACMPE Committee encourages GKCMMA members to continue their professional development by providing study groups for individuals preparing for the ACMPE exams and papers, as well as being a resource for continuing education materials at many levels.  GKCMMA offers ACMPE College credit for all meetings for members pursuing certification and/or fellowship in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE). For information about the ACMPE and our ongoing study groups to prepare managers for the exams, please contact our Forum Representative.

Salary & Benefits Survey

An annual salary and benefits survey of the membership provides industry specific salary and benefit information for our members. Participants receive a free copy of the survey. Salary surveys are also available for purchase.
